Hi. My name is Adriel Cook and I am blessed to be the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teacher!

I graduated from Walla Walla University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, with minors in English and Early Childhood Education. I started my teaching adventure at Livingstone Adventist Academy in Salem, Oregon, where I taught for 4 years. In 2007 we moved to Boise, where I taught here at Boise Valley Adventist School until I had my first child. I then stayed home for several years with my daughters, Cadence and Alayna. During that time we homeschooled, which included participating in a Classical Education Community. That experience gave me a greater love and appreciation for history, geography, and memorizing through song.

In 2019, I was thrilled to return to BVAS! I am passionate about getting children excited about reading and writing. Last summer I worked on becoming STEM certified and am eager to incorporate STEM learning into my classroom. My goal for each of my students is to help them get excited about learning, to find what they are interested in, and help build their confidence.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family! My husband, Cameron, graduated from BVAS in 1995. Together with our daughters and two pugs, we enjoy having various adventures. We particularly love riding bikes, camping, and traveling to places like the Oregon Coast and Disneyland! Our most recent adventure has been converting an old playhouse to a backyard chicken coop for our little flock of six chickens!

I pray that God continues to richly bless our school, and that our students will learn to know how loved they are by our infinite Creator!
